G-20 PRESIDENCY BY INDIA, NEW DAWN TO THE WORLD
G-20 Presidency by India, new dawn to the world to display India’s ages-old world-friendly leadership for the benefit of the remaining 175 countries, besides these 20 countries of the world.
G-20 PRESIDENCY, & BIG RESPONSIBILITIES
The G-20 Agenda is set for the complete one year, from 1st December 2022 to 30th November 2023.This summit generally consists of two parallel tracks, one is Financial Track, another is Sherpa Track.
Central Bank Governors & Finance Ministers lead the Financial track, whereas Sherpas lead the Sherpa track.
G-20 does not have a permanent secretariat, hence supported by presidency of last year ( Indonesia ) and presidency of coming year ( Brazil ) under the heads of two tracks ( Financial & Sherpa ), which conclude the developing ideas suggested by invited foreign representatives of relevant ministries, Administrative authorities, Educationists, business personnel, women, civil societies, parliamentarians, think tanks, Research scholars, students.
G-20 PRESIDENCY, SHORT HISTORY
It was the Asian financial crisis which caused the formation of G20 in 1999.
Initially Finance ministers & Central Bank Governors used to discuss Economic issues. Later on, it was upgraded to the level of Heads of state/Government.
The Group of 20 countries inspired by G-7, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and the United States, added another 13 countries, including China, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia,, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, along with the European Union.
OBJECTIVE & SIGNIFICANCE
The G-20 platform has a major goal to tackle global economic crises including both Microeconomic as well as Macroeconomic challenges.
Out of 195 countries of the world, this G-20 group of the 20 countries constitute 85% of the total world’s GDP, 80% of the total world’s trade, 65% of the total world’s population, & 60% of the total world’s land. That’s why their role becomes more significant in context to the welfare of the whole world.
PRESIDENCY BY INDIA
From 1st December 2022 to 30th November 2023,New Delhi (India) is holding the presidency of G20. The 18th G-20 summit will be held on 9-10 September 2023,
In cooperation with Troika-group of previous, current, incoming presidencies. At the time of India’s Presidency, Troika comprises Indonesia, India, Brazil.
LOGO & THEME
This logo represents four colors ( saffron,white,green, & blue ) of the National flag with images of Earth & National flower Lotus. This indicate the Earth/Environment-friendly nature of India.
The theme is * VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM * which means One Earth One Family One Future.
